Warranty Policy

Effective date: July 23, 2026

Underwater housings live a hard life — pressure, salt, sand, sun. This Warranty Policy explains exactly what is covered on products purchased from SEA FUN FL at seafun.shop, what is not, and how to make a claim that gets resolved quickly and fairly. Warranty questions and claims: [email protected].

The warranty applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase from seafun.shop and is not transferable. It is provided by the manufacturer; as an authorized dealer, we handle the claim process for you so you never have to chase an overseas factory yourself.

2. What Is Covered

  • Cracks, delamination, or structural defects in the housing body not caused by impact.
  • Defective button, dial, or lever shaft seals present from manufacture.
  • Port-mount or bayonet defects that prevent a correct, sealed fit.
  • Optical defects in dome or flat port elements (bubbles, delamination) — not scratches acquired in use.
  • Failure of latches, buckles, or moisture-alarm electronics under normal use.
  • Flooding caused by a verified manufacturing defect — e.g., a cracked body or a faulty factory seal surface. The housing will be repaired or replaced.

3. What Is Not Covered

  • Flooding caused by user error: a pinched, twisted, dirty, damaged, or missing O-ring; hair, sand, salt crystals, or fibers across the seal; an incorrectly closed latch; a missing or incorrectly installed port; or diving with a damaged housing.
  • Exceeding the rated depth of the housing or port.
  • Impact damage: drops on the boat deck, dock, or rocks; crushing in luggage.
  • Normal wear: scratches on ports and bodies, faded colors, worn grip texture, stretched O-rings.
  • Damage from chemicals or heat: solvents, DEET insect repellent (which attacks polycarbonate), non-recommended lubricants, or storage in a hot car.
  • Modifications, disassembly beyond user-serviceable steps, or repairs by unauthorized parties.
  • The camera, lens, or any other contents of a housing. This is standard across the underwater housing industry — no housing manufacturer covers the equipment inside. We strongly recommend adding your camera gear to a household or specialty insurance policy for dive trips.
  • Consequential losses: missed dives, travel costs, or lost images.

4. How to File a Claim

  1. Email [email protected] with your order number and a clear description of the problem.
  2. Attach evidence: photos or a short video of the defect. For flood claims, photograph the housing interior, the O-ring exactly as found, and the seal groove before cleaning anything — this evidence is decisive for a fast, fair assessment.
  3. We respond within 1 business day with an assessment or a request for more detail. Straightforward claims are approved from photos alone; some claims require the item to be shipped in for inspection (we provide instructions and, for approved defect claims, a prepaid label).
  4. Resolution: depending on the issue — a replacement part (seals, latches, buttons are often user-replaceable in minutes), repair, or a full replacement unit. Approved resolutions ship within 5 business days of confirmation, subject to stock.

5. Flooded Housing? Do This First

  1. Do not open the housing underwater. Surface with the housing as-is.
  2. Rinse the closed housing in fresh water and dry the outside.
  3. Open it, remove the camera, and remove the battery from the camera immediately.
  4. Photograph everything before cleaning: interior, O-ring in place, seal groove.
  5. Rinse the housing interior with fresh water, dry, and leave open to air.
  6. Email [email protected] with the photos and your order number.

6. Preventing Claims: Your Part of the Deal

The warranty assumes normal care as described in the product manual: inspect, clean, and lightly grease O-rings before every dive; rinse in fresh water after every salt dive; perform an empty (no camera) leak test before first use and before every trip; use a vacuum leak-check system where supported; never exceed the rated depth; and store the housing unlatched with the O-ring removed. Our FAQ covers each step. Five minutes of O-ring care is the cheapest flood insurance that exists.

7. Out-of-Warranty Service

Housing out of warranty, or damage not covered? We can still help: spare parts (O-rings, latches, buttons, port seals) are available in our Spare Parts collection, and we provide repair guidance by email at no charge. Email [email protected] with photos and we will point you to the right part.

8. Relationship to Your Legal Rights

This warranty gives you specific rights in addition to — never instead of — any non-waivable rights you have under applicable law. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so some exclusions above may not apply to you. This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Returns within the first 30 days are handled under our Returns & Exchanges Policy, which may be faster than a warranty claim for early defects.
